PLC SYSTEM APPLICATION PROJECTS OVERVIEW
Runpower plc system successfully applied in the Metro power supply control system for Beijing city in China, which is the subway DC power supply traction system. Metro power supply system is generally divided into external power supply, main substation, traction power supply system, power monitoring system, and other parts.​

External power supply
The external power supply of the metro power supply system is the external urban power supply supplied by the main substation of the metro power supply system. Usually, two circuit power supply is introduced separately from the 110 kV side of the urban power grid.
Main substation
The main substation receives the high-voltage power supply (usually 110kV) from the urban network and provides the traction substation and step-down substation with medium voltage power supply (usually 35kV or 10kV) through step-down.
Traction power supply system
The function of the traction power supply system is to convert AC medium voltage (usually 35kV or 10kV) into DC 1500V or DC 750V through step-down rectification to provide traction power for metro trains. The system includes a traction substation and traction network, and the traction network includes a catenary and return network. The catenary is suspended by overhead catenary (DC 1500V) and conductor rail (DC 1500V or 750V).
The applications of Runpower plc programmable logic controller meet the requirements of 750V/1500V subway and tram DC traction power supply systems, as well as other special DC traction power supply systems. PLC controllers are used to monitor the operation status of equipment, upload in time in case of failure, and alarm or trip according to the fault level to ensure normal power supply of track. For example, Runpower PLC control panel is applied to the rectifier cabinet device. The PLC systems monitor the diode status, collect the internal temperature, overtemperature tripping, fault, and other input signals of the rectifier cabinet, protect the rectifier cabinet of the track power supply device, display the equipment operation status through the touch screen, and uploads it to the central control system through the RS485 interface.
Power Monitoring System
The function of the power monitoring system is to collect and monitor remote data of subway substations and contact network equipment in real-time. In the control center of urban rail transit, carries out four-remote controls of the main electrical equipment through the dispatching terminal, communication channel, and comprehensive automation system of a substation, to realize the operation scheduling and management of the whole power supply system.
The main body of Runpower plc controller is equipped with a multi-channel serial port, which can communicate with the power monitoring system through the serial port or network port. The internal serial port of the plc control boards is isolated, and the network port is equipped with network protection, which has a strong anti-interference ability to ensure stable and reliable communication.
